Frenulectomy is the surgical removal of the frenulum of the penis. The Frenulum is the band of tissue connecting the tip of the penis to the shaft. If the frenulum is too tight, it can tug the head of the penis and can make difficulty in retracting the foreskin during erection. This can cause discomfort and pain and, in the worst situation, bleeding.

Frenulectomy is a simple procedure can be done together with circumcision or by itself. The procedure involves giving local anaesthetic and cutting the frenulum. Absorbable sutures will be required.
